One of the biggest news stories to come out of Minneapolis in the past year, focuses on Jim Watkins' closest, life long friend, Tom Balko. The events that have transpired since the story broke in July of 2007, has proven to be a scandal on nearly every level. What makes the saga even worse is the fact that the players who have cried foul are highly visible politicians, including the Minneapolis City Council President Barbara Johnson and R.T. Rybak, the Mayor of Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis Mirror, an online publication, contacted and interviewed Jim Watkins in May of 2008. Jim did not hold back in the article as he revealed numerous opinions and facts about the side of the story that the city and press did not want the public to know about. Jim also revealed alarming facts that even the city, Mayor and others involved did not know about. Facts that greatly suggest that Jim's friend has been the target of a headline seeking monster.
